Undeniably, globalisation has brought rejuvenation to fashion. Cultural shocks have allowed new aesthetics to rise, merging ostentatious and anti-system culture. Unfortunately this golden age seems to have passed and nowadays we witness a saddening stagnation. Fast fashion did not spare the industry, as its production has become overly inorganic, blasé, thoughtless. One is forced to conceive, with certain melancholia, that such an evolution cannot be seen as a betterment.

It seems only natural that street power has found in such context a perfect ground to plant its roots. Indeed, branding itself as the counter-culture to what was mainstream, and by deconstructing previous norms, the movement replaced authenticity and spontaneity at the center. The revitalisation of fashion is in no doubt to be found there. Let us never forget that innovation is the fruit of fertile duality between creation and destruction.
